Privacy
Effective July 30, 2026. This policy covers the Penguin Alert game and the penguinalert.com website. Both are run by one person, Alexander Del Valle. When this policy says "we", it means him.
THE SHORT VERSION
The game collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no servers. Saves stay on your device.
The website keeps only what you type into the waitlist or support form: an email address, the list you picked, an optional message, and a timestamp. That is the entire inventory.
WHAT THE GAME KNOWS ABOUT YOU: NOTHING
Penguin Alert collects zero data. Not "almost zero". Zero.
- No accounts. You never sign in. There is nothing to sign in to.
- No analytics or tracking. The game does not watch how you play, and it reports to no one.
- No ads. No ad networks, no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs. No outside code riding along.
- No servers. There is no Penguin Alert server. The game has nowhere to send data, even by accident.
Your saves live on your device and stay there. We never see them.
MULTIPLAYER: YOUR WIFI, NO SERVERS
TWO FLAGS matches and survival co-op run device to device over your own wifi, using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework with Bonjour discovery. No internet needed, no matchmaking service, no server in the middle.
One honest disclosure: while you host or join a match, your device's name (for example "Alex's iPhone") is visible to nearby players. That is how the devices find each other. If you would rather broadcast a different name, rename your device in iOS Settings. Match traffic is encrypted from device to device and never touches a server.
WHAT THE WEBSITE KEEPS
When you sign the roster or send a support message, we store:
- Your email address.
- The list you chose: iOS beta, launch news, Android, or support.
- Your message, if you wrote one.
- A timestamp.
That data lives in a Google Sheet, which means Google LLC processes it as our storage provider. We use it for exactly two things: sending the updates you asked for, and answering your message. It is never sold. It is never shared for marketing.
Want off a list? Ask through the support page and your entry is deleted.
NO TRACKING. ONE LOCAL FLAG.
This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. After you join a list, your browser keeps one small localStorage flag so the form can note that you already signed. That flag stays in your browser, is sent nowhere, and vanishes if you clear your browsing data.
HOSTING
penguinalert.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs to run and defend its network. We add no logging of our own.
CHILDREN
The website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If a child has joined a list, tell us through the support page and the entry is deleted. The game itself collects nothing from anyone, at any age.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. It is at most a row in a spreadsheet, so this is quick. Send the request through the support page and we will confirm when it is done.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date.
CONTACT
Questions, requests, or corrections: use the support page at penguinalert.com/support. A human penguin reads every message.
